The Important Measurements Are Not Just Wall Lengths
Cabinet planning starts with overall room dimensions, but the details that usually matter most are the ones that affect fit and clearances. Appliance widths, window trim, plumbing locations, ceiling changes, and door swings all shape what the final layout can actually do.
Confirm the Room and the Obstacles
Before ordering cabinets, measure and note:
- Overall wall lengths
- Window and door locations
- Ceiling height changes or soffits
- Appliance sizes and required clearances
- Plumbing, electrical, and vent locations
Expert kitchen renovations
Quality craftsmanship and attention to detail make the difference in every remodeling project. We bring years of experience to Central Kentucky homes and businesses.
That information helps prevent layout revisions after materials are already in motion.
Out-of-Square Rooms Need Attention Too
Older kitchens are rarely perfectly square. Even a small variation can affect filler pieces, countertop overhangs, and how a cabinet run finishes against the wall.
That does not mean the project cannot work. It just means the layout should respect real field conditions.
Think Beyond the Boxes
Cabinet installation also has to coordinate with counters, backsplash, flooring, trim, and hardware. Those finish details influence the order of work and how complete the final kitchen feels.
Better Measurements Mean Fewer Surprises
If you are planning cabinet replacement, a few extra measurements and photos before ordering can save a lot of rework later.
