Working Smart in Summer
Kentucky summers mean heat and humidity, but they also offer opportunities for certain home improvements.

Projects to Avoid
Exterior Painting
- Heat causes paint to dry too fast
- Early/late day only or wait for fall
- Surface temps can exceed air temps significantly
Deck Staining
- Similar issues to paint
- Morning-only application
- Check product temperature limits
Attic Work
- Dangerously hot (130 F+)
- Schedule for spring or fall
- Early morning only if necessary
Staying Comfortable
For occupied homes during summer projects:
- Schedule dusty work during cooler morning hours
- Keep HVAC running, change filters frequently
- Consider window units for work areas
- Stay hydrated (you and your contractor)
Planning Ahead
Use summer to plan fall exterior projects:
- Get quotes for painting, siding, roofing
- Order materials with long lead times
- Schedule contractors early
Plan your summer projects - we'll help prioritize what makes sense now vs. later.
