Shower Pan Replacement Process
Shower pan replacement involves removing the old pan, addressing any underlying damage, and installing a new pan with proper waterproofing and drainage.
Assessment and Planning
We inspect the existing pan, surrounding tile, and subfloor to identify the details of replacement needed. This determines whether tile work is also required.
Pan Removal
Careful removal of the existing pan and any damaged materials. We protect surrounding tile when possible and assess subfloor condition.
Subfloor Preparation
Subfloors must be sound, level, and properly sloped toward the drain. We repair or replace subflooring as needed before installing the new pan.
Pan Options
Pre-formed fiberglass or acrylic pans offer quick installation. Custom mud-set pans allow any size or shape and accommodate curbless designs. We recommend based on your situation.
Waterproofing
Proper waterproofing membrane installation prevents leaks. We use industry-standard systems that protect your subfloor and surrounding areas.
Drain Installation
New drain installation with proper slope ensures water flows correctly. We coordinate drain type with your pan selection.
